Forum Title: P Trap for tub
Can you access the p trap to the tub drain without taking the tub out? Regardless, what's involved when removing a tub? (we may be putting new in). How is the tub connected to the drain? I guess what I'm asking is do you just pull the tub out? And then what? How do you separate the tub from the drain? Does it just come right out, or do you have to cut it or something?

Normally you can access the trap either by access panel behind tub or the basement/crawl space.

Remove the overflow trim then remove the tub drain with a special tool
